If you stay in Madalena, a popular and easy walk starts at the Furna de Frei Matias and goes down to the town. Let a car or taxi take you to the Furna. Taxidrivers and local people know where it is. At the moment there is no sign that points its position.

Be careful if you take a look inside.

To walk back to Madalena, return to the main road and follow it down a bit. You can take the first or the second little road on your right. The first one is a little longer and takes you along Qta Das Rosas.
